Frontend Engineer (Mid Level)

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Frontend Engineer to join our engineering team based in Lahore, Pakistan. With 2–3 years of hands-on experience, you will be responsible for building modern, performant, and responsive web applications using React.js and Next.js. Working closely with designers, backend engineers, and product managers, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality user experiences that meet both business objectives and user needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and performant frontend components using React.js and Next.js.
• Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into clean, production-ready code.
• Optimize applications for maximum performance, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Implement responsive layouts and ensure a consistent experience across devices and screen sizes.
• Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in line with established coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across product, design, and backend engineering to deliver features end-to-end.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve frontend issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 2–3 years of professional experience in frontend development.
• Strong proficiency in React.js, including hooks, context API, and component lifecycle.
• Solid experience building production applications with Next.js (SSR, SSG, ISR, App Router).
• Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with modern CSS frameworks and methodologies such as Tailwind CSS, styled-components, or CSS Modules.
• Familiarity with state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or React Query.
• Hands-on experience consuming RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.
• Proficient with Git and version control workflows.
• Solid understanding of web performance optimization, accessibility (WCAG), and SEO best practices.

Preferred:

• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows (e.g., Vercel, AWS, Netlify).
• Exposure to design systems and component libraries (e.g., Storybook, Material UI, shadcn/ui).
• Understanding of authentication flows (OAuth, JWT, NextAuth).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
